My name is Léna, they call me Loulou.
I’m 11 years old and I’m in the 6th grade at Lycée Abdel Kader and my English teacher is Mrs.Tamim. I’m Lebanese, living in Beirut. I have long brown hair, small colored eyes, normal nose , small mouth with candy lips shining with a beautiful smile. I love hanging out with my friends, watching movies at the cinema and eating Pinkberry. I especially love buying candies from the candy shop at Beirut Souks. In addition, I adore going to the beach with my family and close friends and I hate playing basketball and table tennis. My favorite animal is the Yorkshire, it’s a dog. I often listen to music and dance with my sister Sara. I play most of the time “adow”, which is a french online game where I can communicate with people. However, my hubby is going shopping with my sister, who is so stylish!

The Sea by Yara Hajjar

The sea

1.     The fishing: the fishing is very important. The fish is a very healthy food, it contains omega3, a fatty acid that lower the risk of heart diseases.

2.     The salt: the sea provides us with the salt. The solar evaporation is one of the oldiest methods used to produce salt. The evaporation process takes place in open basins, we can find such basins in north lebanon.

3.     The water cycle: the sea is the ressource of rain. Due to the water cycle, by witch the water evaporates, becomes clouds then falls as rain.

4.     Sports activities: the sea gives the chance to practice many sports activities like swimming, diving and water sky.

My vacation by Mona Sultan El Ajami

My vacation was not the perfect one, there were ups and downs.
All my relatives were traveling so did we but to different places. I tried to convince my dad to go with my grandparents and cousins, but I failed. He took his decision to go with his friend, who has a baby girl; wich means no company except my brothers. The baby was so cute. The first time in my life my mom agreed to let me hold a baby. The resort where we spent five days was wonderful. Everything was perfect, we enjoyed swimming, playing in the aqua park, watching the dancing shows at night, and shopping in the souks.
Unfortunately, my dad's friend was always bothering me by making fun of me. Every time he saw me eating, he started telling me (stop eating, you ate too much, how many ice cream..). I barely tried to stop myself from crying. My vacation didn't end here, I faced an accident. While playing in the slides, my dad and I chose a double swimming wheel to go down a slide. First, I was so scared, but it was great. Unluckily it ends by hitting my father's head. But after many sorry, my dad forgave me.
Finally, my vacation ended by going back to "Beirut".

My trip to France by Said Kanaan

In summer, I traveled to France with my family.

First, we went to the airport. We did some shopping in the Duty-Free, then we ate lunch. Afterwards, we left the restaurant and we boarded the plane.
I sat near my father and my two sisters sat near my mom. I decided to seat near the window to see the view from the plane.

We arrived in Paris at 7 o'clock and collected our luggage. A taxi driver took us to the hotel. I was very tired so I went immediately to bed.
In the morning, we went by metro to Disneyland. I was very excited ! But before that, we ate breakfast. It was delicious !
When we arrived, we rode many attractions : some of them were scaring and some of them were entertaining. At the end of the day, we attended fireworks. Finally, we returned to the hotel and slept .
The second day of our journey, we went to the castle of Versailles. It was an educational and an amusing day.
The few next days, we went to the zoo of Thoiry, to the Champs Elysées and we visited Belgium.
My most beautiful day was in Disneyland.
I hope to travel again with my family next year and to visit a new country.

Sunflower, a research from the web made by Fidelia Kinj

Sunflower

Sunflower, plant of the genus Helianthus of the family Asteraceae, native primarily to North and South America. The common sunflower is an annual herb with a rough hairy stem 1–4.5 metres (3–15 feet) high, broad, coarsely toothed, rough leaves 7.5–30 cm (3–12 inches) long, and heads of flowers 7.5–15 cm wide in wild specimens and often 30 cm or more in cultivated types. The disk flowers are brown, yellow, or purple; the ray flowers are yellow. The oval hairy leaves are arranged in spirals. The sunflower plant is valuable from an economic as well as from an ornamental point of view. The leaves are used as fodder, the flowers yield a yellow dye, and the seeds contain oil and are used for food. The yellow, sweet oil obtained by compression of the seeds is considered equal to olive or almond oil for table use. Sunflower oil cake is used for stock and poultry feeding. The oil is also used in soap and paints and as a lubricant. The seeds may be eaten dried or roasted. Argentina, Russia, Ukraine, France, the United States, and China are the leading producers of sunflower seed.
